The Awakened is a pendant built around a sealed lily suspended beneath a sapphire crystal window.

WHY IT'S DIFFERENT
I. A reliquary, not a charm.
Sealed sterling silver and 18k gold vermeil, finished to a mirror polish. Elongated octagonal architecture. Dense in the hand, smaller than its presence suggests. Built like an object meant to be kept through generations, not worn through a season.
II. The lily, suspended in light.
Engraved beneath sapphire crystal, lit by the gold below. The lily does not sit on the surface. It sits beneath it — visible only when the light catches the right angle, the way some things are only visible to those who know how to look.

The Awakened is built around a single optical effect — a lily that appears suspended beneath sapphire crystal, lit from within rather than printed on the surface.
Achieving this requires precise sequencing. The gold vermeil baseplate is laser-engraved before the crystal is set, with the lily designed to catch reflected light at the depth the cavity allows. The sapphire is then pressure-seated into the sterling silver frame with no visible adhesive, no exposed mechanical fixing, and a sealed inner edge that protects the engraving for the life of the piece.
The architecture is fully enclosed. There are no prongs, no open gallery, no floating elements. The body is sterling silver under heavy 18k gold vermeil, finished to a mirror polish, with chamfered edges that catch light cleanly without softening the geometry.
We work in small batches with a trusted production team. Each piece is individually reviewed for crystal seating, engraving sharpness, finish consistency, and weight in the hand.

COMMON QUESTIONS
Will the lily fade or wear off over time?
No. The lily is laser-engraved directly into the gold vermeil baseplate beneath the sapphire crystal — not printed, not painted, not surface-applied. It is fully sealed behind the crystal and inaccessible to skin contact, oils, or daily wear. It will look the same in twenty years as it does the day you receive it.
Is the sapphire crystal scratch-resistant?
Yes. Synthetic sapphire crystal is one of the hardest transparent materials used in fine jewelry and watchmaking — second only to diamond. It can resist scratching from keys, coins, and ordinary contact. It is not unbreakable, but in normal wear, the crystal will remain clear and unmarked.
Is this piece made to order?
Yes. Every Awakened is hand-crafted to order in our workshop. Production takes 2–6 weeks, with most pieces completing closer to the 2–4 week mark. We will keep you informed at each stage.
How is the gold vermeil different from solid gold?
Vermeil is real 18k gold layered over sterling silver. The gold is heavy — significantly thicker than standard plating — and finished to a mirror polish. It is durable, hypoallergenic, and designed to be worn daily for years.
For collectors seeking a fully solid gold version, the Awakened may also be commissioned in archival materials.
Can I wear it in the shower or while swimming?
We recommend removing it before swimming, bathing, or extended water exposure. Sapphire and silver themselves are not damaged by water, but chlorine and saltwater can dull the gold vermeil surface over time. The piece is built to last; the care extends its life.
Will the lily ever glow on its own, like in the story?
No, but it will catch and hold light in a way that surprises you. The cavity between the sapphire and the engraved baseplate is designed to diffuse ambient light, so the lily appears to float and shift depending on the angle. In low light, it is quiet. In a candle's reach, or near a window at dusk, it answers.

Most pieces are completed within three to four weeks before shipping.
This timeline allows for the careful finishing, stone setting, and inspection that each piece receives before it leaves the workshop.
We do not rush this stage.

Before a piece is approved for shipment, it is inspected carefully — the finish, the setting, the proportions, and the overall feel of the piece in hand.
Once approved, it is packaged securely and prepared for delivery.
